Yulia Megawati, 95, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Yulia was a woman of quiet strength, deep kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her warmth, humility, and steady presence enriched the lives of all who knew her.

Born on June 26, 1930, in Semarang, Indonesia, to Yauw Khoen The and Alice Nio Tan, Yulia grew up in a close-knit community that shaped her values and her enduring sense of gratitude. About ten years ago, she moved to Rochester, MN, where she cherished living close to her daughter and her family, finding comfort and joy in being surrounded by those she loved most.

Yulia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hardjo Pranoto, and her youngest daughter, Fifian Pranoto. She is survived by her son, Arifin (Elina Hidayat) Pranoto, of Jakarta, Indonesia; her daughter, Niniek Pranoto (Kiswanto Thayib), of Rochester, MN; and four grandchildren who brought her immense pride: Sarah (Brandon) Pranoto, Keiko Pranoto (Alan Coe),  Steven Pranoto, all of Seattle, WA; and Theodore Pranoto Thayib, of Rochester, MN. Her legacy continues through their lives, their memories, and the love they carry forward.

Visitation will be held on November 24, 2025, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home. The Memorial Mass will be held on November 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Pax Christi Catholic Church, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. A luncheon will follow the service in the Pax Christi Dining Hall.

Memorials may be directed to Pax Christi Catholic Church or Mayo Hospice, whose care and support were deeply appreciated by her family.
