Mr. McCollom, age 54 of Rochester, died Friday, November 1, 2013 at Seasons Hospice after a 22 month battle with brain cancer.

The funeral for Bill will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 6, 2013 in the River Park Chapel of Macken Funeral Home. Friends may visit from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, November 5 ^th at River Park Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

He was born William Joseph McCollom to William Joseph and Margaret (McCaffrey) McCollom on March 16, 1959 in Manhattan, NY.  He was raised in Valley Stream, Long Island NY where he attended Hewlitt High School.  Bill attended college at SUNY Cobleskill NY and received his degree in Hospitality from Providence, RI.  Bill worked as a hotelier for 32 years in Texas, Florida and Minnesota.  On September 1, 1984 he married Connie Faaborg in Houston, Texas.

Survivors include his wife, Connie and two sons, Christopher of Minneapolis and Matthew of Rochester and a granddaughter, Averee. His mother Margaret of Long Island, NY survives along with two brothers and a sister, John of Chicago, Jim (Elizabeth) of Charlotte, NC and Alice (Joe) of Long Island, NY. He was preceded in death by his father, William (Bill).
