Wesley "Wes" Everett Mills – Rochester

Wes Mills, 73, of Rochester, MN passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, March 02, 2025, at Seasons Hospice after a brave battle with cancer.

Wes, A.K.A. "Geek", was born January 3, 1952, in Rochester, MN to Arlene (Mills) Peterson. He graduated from Mayo High School in 1970. Wes married Sharon LaVonne (Gottschalk) Postier in 1981 and they made their home in Rochester, MN.

Wes enjoyed his career as a maintenance electrician for the Mayo Clinic in Rochester where he retired in 2019, after a 37-and-a-half-year career to become caregiver to his wife Sharon who was living with dementia. Wes was also a US Navy veteran where he proudly served from 1971-1975 on board the USS O'Callahan, then continued another two years in the Naval Reserves. Wes attended Rochester Votech completing a Business Utility Maintenance Program and earned his Boiler's License which led to his Mayo Clinic career.

Outside of work, Wes was a lifetime member of the Golden Eagles Motorcycle Club where he actively supported multiple events and successful trail rides. He also enjoyed riding, having owned a long list of motorcycles and dirt bikes. Beyond motorcycles, Wes loved his family and friends. He had a huge heart and at a moments notice would be by any of their sides with help and support. Wes also enjoyed Vans and was a member of Vanners Unlimited.

Wes is survived by his children, daughter Jaime (Brandon) Janzen, stepson Jim (Beth) Postier, and stepdaughters Julie Postier and Janell (Adam) Slifka; seven grandchildren, Andre, Aubrey, Dominic (Justice), Anslee, Ryley, Jayden, and Blake; brother Bruce (Karen) Mills; and cousin and close friend, Jim Ackman.
