Walter "Wally" Elgin, age 87,  passed away at Seasons Hospice in Rochester, MN on September 19. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer's 10 years ago and passed from latter-stage complications from the disease. His wife, Eileen, and stepdaughter, Holly Keller, were with him when he passed peacefully late on Tuesday.

Wally was a loyal and devoted husband to his wife, Eileen, for 40 years. He is survived by his wife, Eileen (81); step-son, David Keller (59); step-daughter, Holly (53); his brother, Andy (89);  his sister, Louise (age unknown); 5 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. Wally was shy and kind, quick with a warm chuckle. He was always happy to help those he loved with whatever was needed, whether a household repair, a move, or entertaining grandkids. Wally honorably served his country in the U.S. Army, often talking with pride of his years when he was stationed in Germany.  Later Wally worked as a plumber and boiler-engineer.  He loved fishing, visiting casinos, taking on home-improvement projects, and caring for his cat, "Kitty."
