Timothy James Nolan, 58, of Rochester went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 after a brief stay at the Saint Marys Hospital ICU.

Tim was born on November 27, 1959 to James and Nancy (Hogle) Nolan of Rochester.

Tim was a 1978 graduate of John Marshall High School and went on to graduate in 1989 from Mankato State University with a degree in Elementary Education. Tim was married to his life partner, Diane, in 1989. As a longtime resident of Rochester, Tim worked for Pace Dairy before attending college. Once he finished college, he was employed by Rochester Public Schools for nine years. Then he went on to work at R&S Transport and 21st Century Childcare. He most recently was employed at Cottagewood Senior Living. Tim had a heart for helping others, especially the elderly, the disabled, and disadvantaged kids. His hobbies and interests include still-life and sports photography. Tim was an avid hockey and football fan. It gave him great joy to see his daughter, Kiera, compete in track and field events and play volleyball. He was always proud to see her perform in her dance recitals. Tim enjoyed getting together with family, going for bike rides, taking Kiera swimming and ice skating and playing "31". He had a silly sense of humor and a creative mind. He would draw cartoons and write clever poems to make us laugh. Tim will be missed by many family and friends, our church community, and those whom he got to know through his various places of employment.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents; father, James; sister, Teresa; cousin, Beth Ann; and sister-in-law, Teresa.

He is survived by his mother, Nancy (John Brandrup) of Rochester; wife, Diane of Rochester, daughter, Kiera; step-brothers and sisters and their families; aunt, Bonnie LaBarge of Neenah, WI; cousin, David Labarge of Appleton, WI; and in-laws, Joan Gerteisen of Rochester, and Jerry (Nancy) Gerteisen of Broomfield, CO.

The memorial service for Tim will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Assembly of God Church in Rochester officiated by Pastor Andy Cass. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
