Thomas J. Kratoska, 79, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on September 26, 2023.

Tom was born in Carroll, Iowa on February 2, 1944, then grew up and spent many years in Milwaukee. He loved the Milwaukee Braves and then the Brewers, but his biggest love was Teri, his wife of 57 years and high school sweetheart. He also cherished his daughters Robin ("pumpkin") and Betsy ("peanut").  Later, he found his greatest joy in the role of Zayde to his two grandsons, Andrew and Caleb. In fact, his love for his grandchildren prompted him to retire in Rochester.

Tom was a kind man who enjoyed the simple things in life. Some of his favorites were chocolate, board games, dad jokes and woodworking. And he loved talking about his career as a brilliant engineer. He was precise, meticulous, generous, respectful, and always willing to help others.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the compassionate caregivers of The Haven at Cottagewood.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 20, 2023 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Rev. Thomas Loomis officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Alzheimer's Association.
