Thomas Lee
Hunt
March 14, 1956 – September 17, 2021
Thomas Lee Hunt, age 65, died September 17, 2021, at his home in Minneapolis. He was born in Baumholder, Germany, on March 14, 1956, where his father was stationed in the Army.
Tom grew up in Rochester, graduated from John Marshall high school, and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Winona State University. After college, he moved to Denver, Colorado, where he worked at Target as manager. After several years, he returned to Rochester to work for his father at Hunt Silver Lake Drug and Hunt Silver Lake Hardware. He then transitioned from retail work and enthusiastically pursued a career selling real estate. A natural fit for him, he progressed to building homes in the Rochester area, where he thrived as owner of both Sunwood and Aspen Homes. He then moved to Minneapolis where he discovered he enjoyed big-city, downtown living. During his recent years, he suffered from health issues, but despite that, he always maintained a positive attitude.
Tom pursued everything in life with gusto, which served to provide many adventures and interesting stories. His vibrant and affable approach earned him many friends. He always had big ideas, and in recent years, those ideas turned more toward how he could help others.
Tom is survived by his two daughters, Christina and Angela Hunt, whom he spoke of often and loved very much; his parents, John Jr. and Rita Hunt; siblings, Nancy (J) Hunt, Susan (Chris) Hunt, and John (Michelle) Hunt III; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends, including his two beloved cats.
The family will hold a private funeral. Memorials may be given to the Salvation Army or Catholic Charities.
