Obituary

Sylvia Mae Clark, 92 of Rochester, passed away peacefully with her family at her side, on August 25, 2020 at Shorewood Senior Campus.

Sylvia Mae Vandeputte was born on January 18, 1928 in Marshall, MN to Florent and Laura Vandeputte. She grew up on the family farm in Marshall and graduated from Marshall High School in 1945. Shortly after, she moved to Rochester where she began work for the Mayo Clinic.  She met and married John V. Clark on February 26, 1952. She retired after over 34 years with Mayo Clinic. At the time of her retirement she was the supervisor of the Hypertension Department. She was a loyal MN Vikings fan and was extremely supportive of her family's sporting events. She was very active in her church, Bethany United Methodist Church, in Rochester. She loved traveling and cruising with her family.

She is survived by her children Virginia "Ginny" (Peter) Campbell of Duluth, Dennis "Denny" (Peg) of Rochester, Brad (Shelly) of White Bear Lake, MN, Lori (Marlin) Keck of Rochester, Kathy (Jeff) Martinson of Rochester, grandchildren Jennifer, John, Nicholas, Marcela, Katelyn, Sam, Aaron, Abby, Stacy, Carrie, Michael, and her sister Lillian Truax.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers and her son Kevin.

A private funeral service will be held at Macken Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Mark Woodward. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens Cemetery of Rochester.

Memorials are preferred to Season's Hospice or donor's choice.
