Susan Kay Nelson, 67, of Rochester, MN, died Monday, February 21, 2022 at St. Marys Hospital.

Sue was born July 25, 1954 in Rochester, MN to Lorn and Rozina Nelson. Sue spent most of her life in Rochester where she raised her three children.

Sue was a hardworking, devoted, loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. Her greatest joys were her children, grandchildren and the chance to unwind with an iced coffee and a good book. She loved taking care of everyone including the birds, squirrels and deer that would come to her door. She spent many years working at Red Owl grocery store and over 20 years working at Mayo Clinic where she planned to retire later this year.

She is survived by her daughters, Jessica Nelson of Rochester, MN and Ashley Nelson of Rochester, MN; son Brandon Nelson of Rochester, MN; seven grandchildren, two sisters and a brother. She is proceeded in death by her mother and father, one sister and brother in law.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church with Pastor Marla Rotman officiating. Visitation will be one hour before service. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens at a later date.
