Steven Bennitt Monson, age 68, of Rochester, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, August 22nd, 2026. Steve was born in Austin, MN on February 7th, 1958 to his parents Bennitt and Dolores 'Dee' Monson.

Steve is survived by his wife, Janel; children, Shelby (Jeff) Schlichter, and Mitchell (Kelly) Monson; grandchildren, Penelope and Liam Schlichter; in-laws, Sam and Julie Gehrking; sisters Debbie (Jeff) Couture, Karla (Paul) Mullenbach, Mary (Craig) Bergum, Kristy (Loren) Kiefer; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; Bennitt and Dolores Monson; and sister-in-law Janet (Mike) Friesen
