Sarah Frances "Fran" Tointon 85, of Rochester, died Friday, Dec. 19, 2014.

She was born in Iredell county, North Carolina on January 22,1929, to Otha and Mamie Stutts. She grew up on their farm in Moorseville, N.C. with her 14 brothers and sisters. She was the second oldest sister and helped with caring for her younger siblings along with the gardening and other farm chores such as picking cotton.

She married Arthur J. Tointon in South Carolina on June 18,1950. Arthur worked on the gas pipeline so for the next 14 years they traveled throughout the Midwest. They settled in Rochester in 1964 which was Arthur's hometown.

She was a stay at home mother who enjoyed her gardening and children.

Sarah is survived by her two children, Michael (Deb Paulson), Sharon Brueske (Tom), four grandchildren, Shane (Kelly), Travis Tointon, Arron and Kari Brueske. Four great grandchildren, Michael, Morgan, Kylie and Benjamin Tointon. Three sisters, Doris (Ralph), May Lily, Wanda and three brothers, Hal, Bill, Larry (Carol Jean) and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, six brothers and two sisters.

A private memorial service will be held in her memory.
