Ruth Ellen (Braun) Tibesar, age 67, of Rochester, passed away on July 14, 2026.
Ruth was born on October 30, 1958, in New Ulm, Minnesota, to Stanley and Frieda Braun. She was baptized into her faith on November 16, 1958, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Courtland, Minnesota. Throughout her life, Ruth held a deep and comforting anticipation of one day meeting her stillborn brother in the next life.
For over 42 years, Ruth was a dedicated and familiar face at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, where her commitment to helping others shone through her daily work. Outside of her professional career, Ruth had a passion for gardening and a true gift for floral design, spending countless hours cultivating beauty and creating stunning arrangements.
Her grace and poise also led her to participate in pageants for many years. This experience fueled a lifelong talent for public speaking and writing. A passionate and courageous advocate, Ruth authored several books centered on mental health awareness. She spoke openly, honestly, and without hesitation about mental illness, eagerly sharing her personal journey with anyone who would listen. Ruth truly believed she was blessed with a story that could heal, comfort, and guide others.
Ruth is survived by her beloved husband, John; their son, Phillip (Candy) of Boise, Idaho; their daughter, Geri of Orlando, Florida; two grandchildren, Teagan Tibesar and Abigail Jobson; a large, loving circle of extended family and friends; and her special friend, Doris.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Frieda Braun, and her infant brother.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Andy Pronsati officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. A private family burial will take place in Minnesota State Veteran’s Cemetery in Preston.
