Ruth Ann Fischer died suddenly at home on Wednesday, May 21 ^st , 2014. She was born to Howard & Lavina Miller in Preston, MN on April 9th, 1937.

Ruth moved to Rochester after graduating from Preston High School and worked for AT&T until she met and married Bill Fischer on April 8 ^th , 1961.  She worked at JC Penny's for 20 years until retiring in 2007.  Ruth enjoyed spending time outside; bird watching, gardening, boating on the river, and their annual beach vacation to Mexico.

Ruth is survived by her husband, Bill and their three children: Ann French (Dan), Beth Fischer, David Fischer (Jade), their three grandchildren: Jennifer French, Nicolet Hedrick (Drew) and Charles French, and two great grandchildren: Hallie French and Riley Hedrick.  Also survived by two sisters and a brother. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.

A memorial Mass for Ruth will be held at 1pm Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with Rev. Mark C. McNea officiating.  Visitation will be held Monday, May 26, 2014 from 3:00PM – 6:00 PM in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home and one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
