Robert Joseph Welp passed away on Friday, Nov. 17, 2023 after a valiant fight against ongoing medical complications.

Bob was born on Nov. 19, 1952 in Eldora, IA to Phillip Welp and Elizabeth (Betty) Studer. He grew up alongside his 2 brothers Tom (Mary J) and Dave (Kate), and his 2 sisters Patty (Mike) and Shirley (Jack). Bob was a lifelong carpenter and business partner. He loved being outdoors fishing, camping, working around his hobby farm, and in his later years enjoying time in Arizona.

On Sept. 14, 1979 he married Deborah Kay Holkestad in Bemidji, MN.

He is survived by his wife Deborah, son Ryan (Lesa), daughter Eme (Justin), and step-son Mike (Jacquie), as well as his grandchildren and step-grandchildren. Known to all that knew him as kind, jovial, warm-hearted, and fair, he will be deeply missed.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held on Friday, Dec. 1, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home.  Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday.  Following the Celebration a fellowship gathering will be held.
