Obituary

Robert Michael Haggerty, of Rochester, died peacefully with his wife of 62 years by his side, at Madonna Towers on Wednesday, August 25, 2021.

Bob was born at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester on March 29, 1940 to Lansford and Margaret (Hafner) Haggerty. He graduated from Lourdes High School in 1958. He married Patricia Anderson at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Rochester.

He worked at Rochester Ready-Mix Concrete Co. for forty years where he was vice president and general manager.

Bob was a charter member of Pax Christi Catholic Church, where he served on its first parish council. He also served as an eucharistic minister.

Bob was a member of the Lourdes School Board. He was a volunteer basketball coach for the Lourdes girls' basketball program and ran the clock for thirty years. He was awarded the 2012 Gene Eiden Award presented by the Lourdes High School Sports Hall of Fame and also the 1988 Lourdes Alumnus award.

He was a life member of the Rochester Elk's Club, played in the Elk's Drum and Bugle Corps, and in the Elk's golf league, and was a member of the Rochester Serra Club.

Bob is survived by his wife, Patty; sons, Michael of Raleigh, NC, Steven of Long Beach, CA; daughter, Melissa (Stephen) Janssen of Bloomington; four grandchildren, Joshua (Kara) Pischke, Sara Pischke, Michaela (Michael) Pohl, and Meghan (Dillon) Hager; great grandchildren, Dalton Pischke, Pailynn Pischke, Barrett Pischke, and Liesl Pohl; and brother, Charles (Carleen) Haggerty.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Jo Pischke; parents, Lansford and Margaret; brothers, James and John; and sisters, Mary Beilke and Patricia Healy.

The Funeral Mass for Bob will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Pax Christi Catholic Church in Rochester, MN. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. prior to the Mass. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Madonna Towers Chapel Fund, Mayo Hospice, or Alzheimer's Association.

The family is grateful to the staff and caregivers at Madonna Towers and Mayo Hospice, especially Jessica, Angie, Karen, and Sarah.
