Robert Leo Gumbusky, 85, of Rochester, MN, passed away peacefully at home on September 15, 2026.

Born on November 20, 1940, in Mankato, MN, Robert was the son of Paul and Lucille Gumbusky. He graduated from Owatonna High School and went on to attend Metropolitan Business College in Chicago, IL. Throughout his career, Robert co-owned Ceramics by Paul in Owatonna alongside his brother, served in administration at St. Marys Hospital, and later worked as the Director of Materials Management and Purchasing for Rochester Public Utilities.

Robert was previously married to Marsha Majerus, and later married Mary Watson. Outside of his professional life, he loved fishing, creating artwork, cooking, traveling, and volunteering on several community boards.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; his children, Troy (Ronda) Gumbusky of Rochester, Todd Gumbusky of Palm Springs, CA, Michael (Beverly) Watson of Wabasha, Patrick (Tammy) Watson of Savage, and Kelly (Dave) Olson of Rochester; and his grandchildren, Taber Gumbusky, Joshua, Jayson (Naty), Elizabeth (Zack), and Adam (Abbie) Watson, as well as Madison and Paige Faupel, and Blake Olson.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Paul, Martin, and James; and his sisters, Genny Gumbusky, Kay Bailey, and Loraine Hanson.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 Friday, September 18,2026 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Stewartville with Fr. Kevin Connolly presiding. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
