Robert William Gillies, of West Concord passed away on November 9, 2017 of natural causes at his home.

Robert was born on December 21, 1964 in Rochester to Jim and Grace (Burmeister) Gillies. He grew up in the Byron and Kasson area and graduated from Byron High School in 1983.

Robert did masonry work most of his life, he enjoyed fishing and hunting, he was a friend of Bill W.

Robert is survived by his parents, Jim and Grace Gillies; brother, Mike Gillies; nephew, Billy Gillies; and his fiancé, Alyssa.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William and Marietta Gillies; maternal grandparents, Archie and Martha Burmeister.

A memorial service for Robert will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with Pastor Joel Xavier officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Memorials are preferred to an organization of the donor's choice.
