Robert “Bob”
Fees Jr.
February 24, 1955 – March 6, 2026
Robert "Bob" Donald Fees Jr, 71, of Melbourne, Iowa, passed peacefully on March 6 th at Mayo Clinic.
He was born in Des Moines to Margaret Anderson and Bob Fees. Bob grew up loving sports like baseball and basketball and this love is something he would pass down to his children.
After graduating high school, Bob would serve his country proudly by joining the Navy for 3 years. After the Navy, he would become a cab driver and travel the country attending as many Grateful Dead concerts as possible. Bob then went to college to become a registered nurse where he would work in the hospital, correctional facility, and lastly hospice care where he found a love for caring for those in their final moments. Later in life, Bob would meet the love of his life, Susan Smith. Together, they would raise 3 of Bob's children and enjoy attending concerts, weekends at the lake, and spending as much time as possible with their grandchildren.
He is survived by his mother, Margaret; his siblings, John Fees, Vicki Pumo, and Tom Fees; his children Angie (Donny), Travis (Deidre), Sarah (Musab), and Robert (Katie), and his beloved Grandchildren Tyler, Taylor, Tanner, April, Matt, Hadley, Eden, and Hamza.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Sue Smith; his father Bob Fees; his stepfather Verle Anderson, and his son Robert Fees III.
A funeral service will be held on March 28 th at 11:00 am at St. John's UCC in Melbourne, Iowa.
Words Bob would preach to his children and something he lived by was, "If you aren't happy then you are just wasting time."
