Robert "Bob" Faye Block, age 82 of Rochester passed away peacefully of natural causes on June 4, 2018 at Mayo Clinic, St. Marys Campus.

Bob was born on April 16, 1936 in rural Olmsted County to John and Avis (Mulholland) Block. In April of 1957, he married Charlene Sanders in Rochester at Zumbro Lutheran Church. Together they raised two daughters. He was the owner and operator of his own full-service gas station in Rochester. In the late 1960's he began working for Mayo Clinic in General Service and retired in the 1990's. He enjoyed fishing on the Minnesota/Canada border, snowmobiling, socializing with friends and was known as a hard working man.

He is survived by his daughters Pam (Joe) Sutton of St. Charles, Lori Thiem of Eyota, grandchildren Trina (Brad) Raymond, Dylan (Steph) Thiem, Cole Sutton, Kelsey Thiem, a great-grandson Trystan, his brother Jack (Marge) Block of Rochester and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Charlene, his granddaughter Alyssa, his sisters Anita and Donna and his brother Russell.

A memorial gathering followed by luncheon for Bob will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm (luncheon begins at 12:30 pm) in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home. Bob requested that his body be donated to the Mayo Clinic Anatomy Department for research.
