Richard (Dick) Kostel of Rochester, MN.

The funeral for Richard (Dick) Kostel will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2018 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester, MN with Pastor Benjamin Loos from Redeemer Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 29th in the River Park Chapel and one hour before the service on Tuesday. Burial will be in Minnesota State Veteran Cemetery in Preston, MN.

Mr. Richard (Dick) Kostel, 82, of Rochester, MN died peacefully Thursday, January 25, 2018 at his residence. Richard (Dick) was born December 8, 1935 to Mitchell Pete and Selma Kostel.

Dick graduated from high school and later joined the military branch of the Army during the Korean war and was honorable discharged at the end of his term. He then worked for the Little Dutch Mill Dairy of Rochester, MN for 20 years as a milkman. Dick worked for Rochester Public Utilities as a meter man for 20 years and has since been retired for 20 years.

Survivors include one sister, Ruby (Richard) Fearon of Pineville, LA; one daughter, Donna Kostel; two sons, Mitch (Brenda) Kostel and Darrick (Melissa) Kostel all of Rochester, MN; eight grandchildren, Bonnie, Kari, Heather, Ashley, Tasa, Tyler, Shannon and Jake; and six great-grandchildren, Taryn, Taytum, Ellis, Wyatt, Piper and Haven. He is preceded in death by his mother, Selma, and father, Mitchell Pete.

Dick enjoyed shooting pool, bowling and enjoyed taking road trips to Treasure Island to partake in casual gambling activities. He mostly enjoyed spending time with family and cherished valuable time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorials are preferred to the Kostel family and charity(s) of choice will be determined at a later date.
