Richard Lee "Dick" Hansen, age 73, died October 28, 2011 at his home in Byron, MN.  He will be sadly missed by family and friends.  Richard was born on November 13, 1937 to Clayton and Margie (Warn) Hansen of Stewartville, MN.  He graduated from Stewartville High School and lived most of his life in southeastern Minnesota. He married Karen Washburn and was later divorced.  He married Suzanne Wallin on April 3, 1987.  His working years were spent in sales in the plumbing and heating industry.

Richard will be remembered for his love of reading, which has been instilled in future generations.  WCCO Radio was often on in the background and a book was always nearby.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and beloved dogs.  Country living, wildlife and gardening gave him pleasure and interest in his later years.

He is survived by wife, Suzanne of Byron, daughter Kari (Tim) Fairclough of Rochester, step-daughter Angela (Bill) Lee of Brooklyn Park, step-son Jason Oman, four grandchildren; Heather (Brent) Weber, Ted Fairclough, Caitlyn and Hanna Lee, one great-grandchild, Josephine, and a brother Robert Hansen of Austin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Warren, Phillip, Paul, Gordon and sister Maxine Jacobson.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 31, 2011 at 11:00AM in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with the Pastor Charles Ortloff officiating.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, evening, October 30, 2011 from 6PM – 8PM in the original Macken Funeral Home building and one hour prior to services in the River Park Chapel.
