Richard Geise, 86, of Sebring, Florida passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2017, at Lakeland Regional Hospital with his family by his side. He was born in Rochester, MN on April 4, 1931 to the late Dorothy and Donald Geise.
After graduating from college he joined the Army and was deployed to Korea. Upon his return to Rochester he married his longtime sweetheart Sharon McAdams in 1954. He was employed by Northwestern Bell for 30 years and continued his employment as a telephone engineer for an additional 18 years in Florida and California.
He loved life, socializing with everyone he met. He enjoyed precious time with his beloved family, friends and acquaintances. His hobbies included fishing, golfing, traveling, bowling, and long walks with his pal, Baxter, his favorite yorkie. He looked forward to his Monday morning Korean War Veterans Breakfast with the guys.
Richard is survived by his wife, Sharon Geise of Sebring, FL; two siblings, Belva (Luverne) Kothenbeutel and Robert Wichser of Rochester, MN; and sisters-in-law, Kay (Donald) Bell of Sebring, FL and Judith (Robert) Hagaman of Naples, FL; three children, Therese Geise-Colglazier and fiancé Don Henry of Corona, CA, Lisa (Christopher) Casey of Irvine, CA, and Mark (Erin) Geise of Rochester, MN. He is also survived by six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, and several beloved nieces, nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by his son, Douglas and great-great-grandson Bentley.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, December 15, 2017 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home and one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
