Richard D. "Dick" Mahoney died December 4, 2009 at Methodist Hospital in Rochester.  Richard was born to Kenneth Mahoney and Lois Bye on September 28, 1947 in Leroy, MN.  He married Cindy Thorson on April 10, 1982 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA.  Dick moved to Rochester after serving in the United States Navy in Vietnam.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy; children Heather Moe of Rochester, David (Mika) Moe of Xenia, OH, and Ryan Mahoney of Rochester; brothers Donald of New Hampton, IA and Larry Osage, IA; and four grandchildren

Mr. Mahoney was preceded in death by his mother, father and two brothers.

Richard worked as an Ice Cream Operator at Kemps Dairy in Rochester, retiring in February of 2009. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, music, playing the guitar, and singing and dancing.  He also loved boating and camping, and older cars.

The funeral service for Richard will be at Macken Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 8 at 11:00AM, with Pastor Lester Horntvedt officiating.  Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Burial will take place following the service at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester.
