Obituary

Rev. Raymond Logan, 94, of Rochester, died Thursday, March 28, 2019 at his home.

Raymond was born January 23, 1925 in Cumberland, WI to Ray and Zoa (Hutchison) Logan.

On September 1, 1946, he married Lorraine E. Duckson in Wells, MN and together they raised seven children. The Logans were doing well on a Southern Minnesota farm when the call to fulltime ministry became too pressing to continue farming. They sold out and went to Northwestern Bible School and Seminary.

In 1951, the couple moved to Aberdeen, MD where Raymond was instrumental in starting the ministry of military evangelism and opening the Christian Welcome Center at Aberdeen, MD Proving Grounds. Raymond Logan was ordained to preach the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ on June 24, 1953.

After his move to Rochester, the first Sunday service of Faith Church was held in his home in October of 1955 and was the start of his ministry in Rochester. He was elected a trustee and treasurer at the international convention for Independent Fundamental Churches of America (IFCA) and later appointed second vice president.

Faith Sound Inc., a non-profit corporation was formed in 1972. Faith Christian School was then started in 1974 and after many years of preparation, Faith Sound Christian Radio, KFSI, began broadcasting in 1981.

Raymond was preceded in death by two sons, two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He is survived by his wife of 72 ½ years, Lorraine; seven children, Dianne Stabenow, Jeanette Ihde, Darlene Becker, Tim Logan, Sally McConaughey, Pam Connelly, and Paul Logan; 27 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, WillaBelle Nelson of Rochester.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Faith Sound Christian Radio, KFSI 92.9.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with Rev. Lyle Ihde officiating. A private family burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens.
