Phyllis Elaine
Maxwell
October 6, 1946 – December 14, 2025
Phyllis Elaine (Disbro) Maxwell, a devoted mother and grandmother, unexpectedly passed away on December 14, 2025 at the age of 79.
Phyllis was born in Binghamton, New York on October 6, 1946, to Stanley and Alma (Cornell) Disbro. The family moved to Los Gatos, CA in Phyllis' early years where she graduated from Los Gatos High School. She started her long career at IBM in San Jose, CA, and while working and raising her two children she accomplished a degree in business with University of Phoenix. Her job took her to Florida, Arizona and finally to Rochester, MN in the late 1990s where she resided until her death. She dedicated her life to her family. She was always there with a listening ear and unconditional love and support no matter what for her children and family. She enjoyed walking her beloved dog, Oscar, around her neighborhood. Phyllis loved grilling salmon on her Weber for a family dinner or making her specialty of ha pennies for a family gathering. She enjoyed working in her flower/vegetable boxes, doing puzzles and was an avid reader, before RA took over her hands she enjoyed woodworking. But her greatest joy and love was watching her granddaughter, Izzy on stage performing; she called her "my shining star."
Phyllis is survived by her children, son, Stan Maxwell of Willow Creek, CA, and daughter, Julie Maxwell of Rochester, MN; her only granddaughter, Izzy(Isabella) Maxwell of Rochester, MN; brother Jim (Eileen) Disbro of Colorado Springs, Co, sister Ruth (Rick) Miller of Rochester, MN; sister-in-law Barb Disbro of San Jose, CA and loving nieces and nephews with their spouses and children.
A Celebration of Life to honor and celebrate Phyllis will be planned in the Spring of 2026 and will be announced by the family at a later date.
Condolences may be sent to Macken Funeral Home.
