Phyllis Mae Alcott, 88, a lifelong resident of Rochester died Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at Samaritan Bethany.

Phyllis was born June 7, 1935 in Rochester, Minnesota to Wilmer and Marie (Braun) Zimmerman. She grew up in Rochester and graduated from Lourdes High School in 1953. She started working in the kitchen at St. Marys Hospital when she was sixteen years old and retired from there in 1994 as a dietary supervisor after 46 years. On June 14, 1958, she was united in marriage to Orville Alcott. Orv passed away earlier this year on May 12, almost making it to their 65 ^th anniversary. She was a member of the Church of the Resurrection Catholic Church and enjoyed trips to the casino and going "up north" with Orv, friends, and family. She was an Elvis fan and on two trips to Las Vegas, got to see him in concert.

Phyllis is survived by sister-in-law, Judy Zimmerman; brother-in-law Steven Hanson; brother- and sisters-in-law Stanley Alcott, Joyce (Loren) Wiener, and Alice "Cookie" Volberding, Betty Alcott; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville; two sisters LaVonne Mengis and her husband Thomas, and Linda Hanson; and two brothers David and Daniel.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 19, 2023 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with Rev. James Steffes officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Rochester.
