Paul “Butch”
Klipsic
April 2, 1946 – October 1, 2021
Butch Klipsic, 75, of Oronoco, MN passed on October 1, 2021 at Cottagewood Senior Communities after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
Butch was born April 2, 1946 in Rochester, MN to Paul and Ileen (Hague) Klipsic. He graduated from John Marshall High School in 1964 and attended the University of North Dakota. On May 18, 1968 he married Susan Marcuson at St Michaels Church in Kenyon MN. The couple lived in Rochester until 1992, when they moved to Oronoco MN. Butch worked as an Inspector for Rochester Public Works.
Butch loved sports and was a very gifted athlete. At John Marshall, he was a three star athlete lettering in football, hockey, and baseball. Butch attended the University of North Dakota on a baseball scholarship. At UND, Butch played both hockey and baseball, and his baseball team was the first team inducted into the UND Hall of Fame. His sports career continued playing hockey on the Senior Men's Rochester Mustangs team of the 70's. Butch was an avid and lifelong Pittsburgh sports fan, especially the Steelers.
He is survived by his wife, Susan (Marcuson) Klipsic; his son, Tony Klipsic of Cottage Grove MN, daughter, Lisa Klipsic and son-in-law, Aaron Espinoza of Los Angeles; grandson, Cody Klipsic of Minneapolis; his sister, Mary Neilson of Madison WI; and his brother, Dick and wife Pam Klipsic of Madison WI.
The Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday October 4, 2021 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with Father Russ Scepaniak officiating. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the service and a luncheon to follow the service.
Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimers Association or Moments Hospice.
