Paul Christian Finley, 84, of Rochester, Minnesota passed away on December 31, 2025, at The Waters on Mayowood in Rochester. Paul passed peacefully after a brave battle with prostate cancer surrounded by his loving family.
A carpenter by trade, Paul's hands were always creating. In retirement, he enjoyed making furniture, wood carvings, and restoring vintage vehicles, especially Model A's. He was a proud member of the Carpenters Local Union and the Lady Slipper Model A club. Paul's life was a beautiful testament to hard work, family, and the joy of creating and sharing with those he loved most.
He was the son of Paul B. and Dorothea (Jensen) Finley. Paul is survived by his wife of 66 years, Sharon (Ramsey) Finley; their 4 children: Pam (Dave) Lendt, Scott (Lisa) Finley, Jeff (Deb) Finley, and Jim (Deb) Finley; 13 grandchildren: Kevin (Angie) Lendt, Kyle (Laura) Lendt, Kristy (Drake) Nelson, Brooke Finley, Brian Finley, Alexis Finley, Tim (Aurie) Finley, Josh (Jasmine) Finley, Chris (Hellen) Finley, Melissa (Josh) Rose, Tiffany (Larry) Finley, Korey (Megan) Finley, Laura (Michael) Kruse; and 14 great-grandchildren. Paul is also survived by his sisters Dorothea Hall and Judy Martin; sisters-in-law Jane Finley, Gloria Stillman, Carol Stillman and Diane Deobald; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Richard and Ronald Finley; sisters Barbara (Bob) Dunderi, Arlene Stueve, Dianna (Mel) Schletty; brothers-in-law Paul Ark, Dick Chapman, Darrell Hall, Cliff Hewitt, Sr., Joe Cooley, Wayne Stillman, Bob Stillman, Mike Deobald, LaVern (Neva) Ramsey, Wallace (Norma) Ramsey; and sisters-in-law Muriel (Bob) Marsteller, and Jeanne Ramsey.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Grace Community Church, 311 Carolann Street, Eyota, MN at 11am with Pastor Dave Larson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester at a later date.
The family would like to express deep appreciation to Mayo Hospice and The Waters on Mayowood for Paul's care in recent months. Memorials may be directed toward the family.
