Patrick Michael Purinton, age 70, of Rochester, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at St. Marys Hospital on February 16, 2019.

Pat was born on December 19, 1948 in Belle Plaine, MN to Ralph and Carol (Olson) Purinton.  He graduated from John Marshall High School in 1966. Pat worked at various places including Adler's Sporting Goods, Rochester State Hospital and Rochester Civic Center. He retired from Mayo Clinic Labs after over 26 years. In 1979, he married Paulette Holmen. He absolutely loved nature, especially turkey hunting. Above all, he loved his family, especially visiting his grandchildren.

He is survived by his four children, Sarah Towey of Rochester, Matt (Amy) Purinton of Ramsey, MN, Joshua (Nicole) Purinton of Blaine, MN, and Mike (Maggie) Purinton of Dodge Center; grandchildren, Miranda, Donovan, Alex, Vincent, Jackson, Daniel, McKenzy and Quintin; and his sister, Karen Hanson of Bovey, MN.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, David; and sister, Cheryl.

A memorial gathering for Pat will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 22, 2019 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home. A light lunch will begin at 12:00 p.m.

Memorials are preferred to diabetes research at the Mayo Clinic or American Heart Association.
