Patricia Tomforde

A Memorial Mass for Patricia J. "Pal" Tomforde will be 12:00 Noon, Friday, October 25, 2013 at Madonna Towers Chapel with Rev. James Russell officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass.  Pal's wishes were to be cremated and her ashes buried next to her husband at Oakwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Tomforde, 88 of Rochester, died Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Madonna Towers.

Patricia J. "Pal" (Buche) Tomforde was born April 21, 1925 in Yankton S.D.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence "Spud" Tomforde and sisters JeanAnn Graff, Betty Roby and brother Robert Buche. She is survived by two sons Philip of Santa Cruz, CA, Larry of Friant, CA and daughter Libby Hagen of Rochester, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Growing up in Mitchell S.D., Pal was involved with the family business in retail . After attending St. Benedicts, she moved to Rochester and pursued a career in fashion merchandising, working at Julius Estes, Dayton's Oval Room, and Her's.

Pat spent countless hours volunteering for many organizations including Meals on Wheels, Pink Ladies of St. Mary's Hospital and Catholic Charities, traveling twice to Haiti to work with the Sisters of Charity to help build clinics.

Pat loved to garden, cook, travel and especially gathering with her family.
