The graveside service for Patricia Ann "Maz" Shanahan will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester with committal prayers said by Rev. Linda Helberg. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Saturday in River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home.

Mrs. Shanahan, 82, of Austin, died of a lengthy illness at her home Friday, December 29, 2017. Patricia was born May 31, 1935 in Rochester to Walter and Minnie Sneve Karsburg.

Patricia graduated from Central High School in Rochester. On September 3, 1955, she married Stanley Shanahan at Bethel Lutheran Church in Rochester. Stanley died June 24, 1980. Pat worked for the Rochester Public School System in the lunch program. She lived in Austin for the past 20 years.

Survivors include her two sons, Daniel and Timothy Shanahan of Austin, MN; and her daughter, Cynthia Perzynski of Rose Creek, MN; three grandchildren, Stacy Ann (Justin) Deno of Mantorville, TJ Perzynski of Rochester, and Jami Weatherly of Austin. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley; son, Kristopher; grandson, Thomas Shanahan Perzynski; and brother, Wally Karsburg.

Patricia was very artistic, and loved to draw and paint, as well as spend time gardening.
