Patricia "Patty" Newman, 59, of Pine Island, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends on Thursday, December 6th after a tough fight against cancer.

She was born on March 8, 1959 in Minneapolis, MN to John and Patricia Holmes. She graduated from Pine Island High school in 1977. On May 21, 1983 she married Mark B. Newman and raised four children together.

Patty's life was centered around her family and friends, most noticeably with her four grandsons. When she wasn't spending time with them you could find her cheering on the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Wild, or spending time out on the town with her friends. Patty loved to scrapbook, catch the latest movie in theaters, and chat with anyone. She had a love for music, especially "The King" Elvis Presley.

Patty is survived by her husband, Mark Newman of Pine Island; her children, Bethany Newman (Brad) of Pine Island, Matthew Newman of Rochester, Patricia Newman of Rochester, and Jackie Newman of Pine Island; her grandchildren, Brayden, Blake, Bennett, and Bryce Rehling of Pine Island; and her two sisters, Debra Holmes of Pine Island, and Diane (Scott) Lindahl of Pine Island.

Patty is preceded in death by her parents, John and Patricia Holmes.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 15, 2018 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester, MN with Pastor Dan Ashpole officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the memorial service in the River Park Chapel.
