Nicholas Zachary Borth, 20, of Stewartville (originally from Rochester) lost his life on August 27, 2016 to a canoeing accident.
Nicholas was born July 9, 1996 in Rochester, MN. He spent most of his days there attending and graduating from John Marshall in 2014.
His passion for life was indescribable. His first passion was wrestling in which he excelled at and led him to the opportunity to go to State as a 10th grader. His second passion was baseball; both as a player and a dedicated RYBA umpire starting at the age of 14 and continuing through 2016. He also enjoyed football, soccer, skateboarding and weightlifting.
Nicholas' greatest love and pastime was spending every minute with family or friends and fishing.
He is survived by his parents, Patrick and Kristine; two brothers, Matthew Borth (Breanna Bruce), and Joshua Borth; one sister Abigail Borth; two nephews; one niece; paternal grandparents Leonard and Lucille Borth; and several uncles, aunts and cousins.
He is preceded in death by maternal grandparents Don and Marcella Simning and two aunts and one uncle.
The Funeral Mass for Nicholas will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at St. Francis Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Thomas Cook officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, September 2, 2016 at Macken Funeral Home River Park Chapel from 4:00 to 7:00PM and for one hour prior to the Mass on Saturday at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Rochester.
