Nathan Michael
Westergaard
June 16, 1987 – August 3, 2025
Nathan Michael Westergaard, age 38, of Rochester, MN, passed away on August 3, 2025.
He was born on June 16, 1987, in Rochester to Lori and Miles Westergaard.
Nathan is survived by his parents, Miles and Lori; siblings Ryan (Taylor) and Ashley (Melina); cherished nephew and nieces Dillon, Abigail, and Lenny; and his loyal dog, Tiger. If you knew Nathan, you knew Tiger—his constant companion, someone to care for, and someone to talk to. He is also remembered by many beloved extended family members. He was preceded in death by Grandma Sharon, Grandma Glenda, and his Uncle Kevin.
Nathan lived a life full of love, laughter, and meaningful connections. He shared countless adventures with his dad, road-tripping across the country in search of the next great vehicle. No matter where he had been or how full he was, he always stopped at home to enjoy his mom's homemade food.
He had a smile and a hug ready for his brother Ryan—though Ryan always gave him the kiss he pretended not to want—lovingly calling him "my little brother." With his sister Ashley, he shared late-night conversations about things only they would understand, proudly calling her his best friend.
Nathan loved playing Madden or NHL with Dillon and made a tradition of carving pumpkins with Abigail each fall. He enjoyed espresso martinis with his sister-in-law Taylor, who fondly remembers him cutting his hair and adjusting his cowboy hat after winter, while assuring her she was always protected. Melina appreciated Nathan's deep, thoughtful side and his surprising wealth of philosophical knowledge.
His quick wit, loyal heart, and ability to make everyone feel valued left a lasting mark on all who knew him.
A celebration of Nathan's life will be held at the Rochester Golf and Country Club on August 23, 2025, from 2–5 p.m. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor the life of a man who brought joy, humor, and love into every space he entered.
Nathan's legacy lives on in the stories, laughter, and love he shared—a reminder that even in loss, the bonds of family and friendship remain unbroken.
