Nathan Paul Johnson, 52, formerly of Rochester, died at his home in Myrtle Beach S.C. on March 28, 2017. Nathan Paul Johnson was born February 23, 1965 in Rochester to Paul and Mary Ann Johnson. He attended school in Rochester and graduated from Mayo High School in 1983. He was loved by his classmates where he was the Homecoming King his senior year. He played football there and at RCC and Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. He graduated college at Concordia with a BA in Business and wore his cobber ring with pride! He married Kathy Jensen, and they were blessed to bring two amazing children into the world together. Nate was a visionary and started businesses like Venture Computer Systems and the Home Gallery. He also worked for the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce and started the Leadership program there. He came into his own working with SEMAR and was passionately involved in many community projects both in Rochester and Myrtle Beach, Miracle Field and Savannah's Playground to name a few. He loved sports and supported the Rochester Honkers by being a host family to two players. He volunteered for the Dyslexia Institute of MN and often spoke and shared his lifelong struggles of dealing with dyslexia. For the past three and a half years, he has lived in Myrtle Beach S.C. He worked for the Coastal Carolina Association of Realtors as the VP Government Affairs Director. He was passionate for the real estate industry at the local, state, and national level. He made many friends and became a part of their family as soon as he set foot in the Myrtle Beach area. Nate enjoyed his Minnesota roots when it came to sports. The Vikings, Twins and most recently he found a passion for watching the Wild. He really enjoyed the beach, the sun, and when family would come to visit. He loved life, people and sports but his most precious gifts were his two children, Mitchell and Mikaela Survivors include, Mitchell, his son; Mikaela, his daughter, both from Rochester, and his loving pet companion Shea. Siblings, Lynette(Leon) Nerison of Wanamingo and Kevin(Carolyn) Johnson of Rochester; and his four nieces and nephews (Kelly, Jeff, Josh, and Taryn). He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ann, his father, Paul, and twin sister, Heidi. Memorial services will be at River Park Chapel, Macken Funeral Home (1105 12th Street SE Rochester, MN) at 1:00PM, Saturday April 8, with a visitation starting at 11 am, two hours prior. Rev. Tony Deach is officiating. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery at a later date.
