Obituary

Nathan Charles Hull, age 43, of Rochester, Minnesota, passed away suddenly on August 27, 2025 while doing something he loved: running. His passing is unexpected, heartbreaking, and far too soon.
Nathan was born on September 24, 1981, in Ogden, Utah, to Dale Brent and Renee Heileson Hull. From his earliest days, he radiated kindness, strength, and faith. A devoted disciple of Jesus Christ, Nathan lived a life anchored in service, humility, love — and a sense of humor that could brighten any room.
As a young man, Nathan faithfully served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Brazil, where his testimony and love for the Savior deepened and grew. On August 23, 2003, Nathan married the love of his life, Jennifer McInnes, in the Salt Lake City Temple, being sealed for time and all eternity. Together, they built a home filled with warmth, faith, learning, laughter, inside jokes and movie quotes.
Nathan's devotion to learning and helping others guided his professional journey. He graduated from Brigham Young University, followed by a medical degree at Penn State College of Medicine. He completed his radiology residency at the Mayo Clinic and a fellowship at Duke University. Nathan returned to Mayo Clinic as a pediatric radiologist, where he became a respected physician, mentor, educator, and published scholar, admired for his brilliance, compassion, and impeccable character.

Nate and Jennifer are the proud parents of eight amazing children. Nathan delighted in every aspect of fatherhood and treasured every moment—from showing up to soccer games and supporting school projects to kneeling in prayer with his children every day. He taught with gentleness, laughed often, and made sure their home was full of peace and light. The most cherished line from the Stars-Wars-loving-dad was when Nathan would announce "I am your father".

That quote became more than a nerdy dream come true; it was a perfect snapshot of everything Nate embodied as a dad: wise, playful, strong, and deeply devoted. It captured his sense of humor, his natural leadership, and his love for all things geeky—but most importantly, it was a reflection of the joy and purpose he found in fatherhood. For Nate, being a dad wasn't just his role—it was his greatest adventure.

Those who knew Nathan will remember his humor, his steady presence, and his unique way of weaving joy into simple moments and everyday life. He had an uncanny ability to drop the perfect quote at just the right moment — reminding us that life, while serious, should never be taken too seriously.
Nathan loved running, learning, time outdoors, and most of all, being surrounded by his family. His life was a testament to both excellence and humility, brilliance and goofiness, reverence and joy. Though his life ended far too soon, Nathan's legacy is eternal: a man of faith, service, and love, whose influence will ripple through generations. In the words of one of his favorite shows, Psych, his life reminds us to "find the fun, seize the joy, and always remember to laugh."
Until we meet again our dear Nate, have fun storming the castle.
Nathan is survived by his wife, Jennifer; their eight children; his parents Dale and Renee Hull; and his siblings Landen (Cassie) Hull, Jarrett Hull, and Brenton (Leah) Hull.
