Obituary

Michael (Mike) Allen Wolfe, 66, of Rochester, MN, passed away peacefully in his home on February 9, 2024, after a two year courageous journey with pancreatic cancer.

Michael was born on October 3, 1957, to Arnold and JoAnn (Staloch) Wolfe in Mankato, MN. At the age of 9 the family moved from St. Peter, MN to Fairmont, MN. He was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont. On July 14, 2001, he married Carole Tellijohn at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, IA. The couple lived in Owatonna, MN until 2011 when they moved to Rochester, MN. Through the years, he owned two businesses: one with Surge Dairy Equipment, the other building conversion/living quarter trailers. Since 2009, he worked as a maintenance supervisor with a property management group and a realtor of MN campgrounds and resorts.

Michael was an avid supporter of Ducks Unlimited. He was proudly involved with the Boy Scouts of America from 1965 to 2014 where he served as a member and later provided adult leadership training. In 2009, he was awarded the Silver Beaver award from the Twin Valley Council. He was the summer Camp Director at Camp Cuyuna in 2012. Over the years, he played bass guitar with several different bands. Some of his favorite hobbies include interest in trains, deer hunting, camping, playing guitar, drives along the Mississippi River in the fall, and collecting Red Wing pottery. Michael enjoyed spending time outdoors and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. When diagnosed in 2021, he remained dedicated to his work, his family, and his passions, during his will to fight his illness. He was a brave, iron-willed man throughout his journey. He will be missed by many.

Michael is survived by wife, Carole, sons, Allen (Megan) Wolfe, Adam (Amber) Wolfe, Andy (Shayna) Wolfe, Ryan (Sara) Douglas, Robby (Ella) Faltersack, and daughter, Jennifer Withers, mother, JoAnn Wolfe, brother, Paul (Toni) Wolfe, sister, Cheryl (Brad) Olson; 19 grandchildren and two nieces. Michael is also survived by his former wife, Linda Wright. He is preceded in death by his father, twin sisters, and grandparents.

Special thank you to the Mayo Clinic physicians and the Mayo Clinic Hospice Program for the care they provided.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2024, in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. A private burial will be held at a later date.
