Michael Dean Sandberg, 67, of Rochester, died Monday, October 25, 2021.  Mike was born November 16, 1953 in Washington, D.C., and graduated from John Marshall High School in 1971.  He married Linda Atkins on December 5, 1981 and they later divorced.

Michael spent his career working in the grocery business for Barlow Foods and later Hy-Vee until his illness forced him to retire early.  He took great pride in working his way up from the register to being a corporate manager.  Mike enjoyed playing softball, golf, and bowling, and was a fan of nearly every sport.  He loved all Minnesota teams, especially the Wild, Vikings, Twins, and Timberwolves.  Mike was a collector of coins, stamps, and most notably KISS memorabilia; he was a lifelong, devoted fan of the band and a member of the KISS Army.

Mike is survived by a daughter, Mattie (John) Decker of St. Charles; grandsons, Caden, Jonah, and Samuel Decker; father, Steve Sandberg of North Oaks; sister, Kathy Tarpenning of Rice Lake, WI; brothers, Jon Sandberg (Tom Barrot) of Little Canada and Eric (Deann) Sandberg of Blaine; and his former wife, Linda Sandberg of Preston.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Audrey Sandberg, and sister, Shannon Forester.

A visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 30, 2021 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home.  There will be a brief prayer service at 5:00 p.m.
