Maxine Frances Murphy McAdams, 96, passed away peacefully, Friday evening March 16, 2012, at St. Marys Hospital following a brief illness.
Maxine was born December 1, 1915, in Rochester, MN to Mollie and Joseph Murphy. She graduated from Rochester High School.
In 1935 she married Thomas McAdams at St. John the Evangelist Catholic in Rochester, MN. Together they raised three daughters, enjoying summers in Lake City MN, swimming, boating and long walks along the beach.
She was employed by Northwest Bell Telephone Company. She also worked at the Kahler Corporation as a Chief Operator in the communications department, returning to Northwest Bell where she retired in 1980.
Maxine enjoyed lunches with her neighbors and friends. She traveled frequently to Naples, Florida and Irvine and Corona, California to spend time with her beloved family.
She is survived by her three daughters Sharon (Richard) Geise, Kay (Don) Bell, and Judith (Robert) Hagaman, nine grandchildren, Therese TAG Colgilazier (Don) Henry, Lisa and Chris Casey and Mark (Erin) Geise, Michael (Nikki) Roddis, Mollie Roddis Griffin, David A. Roddis, Elizabeth Hagaman, Thomas Hagaman and Martha (Ed) Koehler. She is also survived by twelve great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.
Maxine was preceded in death by her husband Thomas, a grandson Douglas Geise and great, great, great grandson Bently Turner.
The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at St. Pius X Catholic Church with the Reverend Paul Nelson officiating.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home and one hour at the church prior to the funeral. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
