A visitation for Mavis Mattson will be held from 5:00PM – 7:00PM, Saturday, December 22, 2012 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home. The body has been cremated. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Mattson, 91, of Rochester, died at Seasons Hospice Tuesday, December 18, 2012.

Mavis Deloris was born August 10, 1921 in Watertown South Dakota to William and Dorothy (Wheelock) Cunningham. As a child, she moved to Rochester where she grew up.

Mavis married Lavern Mattson on September 27, 1939 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Rochester. Mr. Mattson passed away in 1999.

Mavis was a sales person at the Dayton Department store for 32 years. She retired in 1996.

She is survived by 2 children; Rory P. (Janet) Mattson of Albert Lea, MN and Lynn (Pam) Mattson of Tulsa Oklahoma, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one sister, Toni Bernert of Portland, OR. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lavern.

Mavis enjoyed her many friends from church, work and her home at REALIFE Cooperative. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.

Memorials are suggested to the Mayo Foundation, Family Practice in the name of Dr. Onelis Quirindongo-Cedeno.
