Matthew Lovejoy, age 62, died on July 14, 2024. He was born to Leo and Aline Lovejoy (Prinz) on September 17, 1961, in Rochester, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his two children, son, Jeremiah Lovejoy (Carlie) and daughter, Katrina Lovejoy of Rochester, MN and three grandchildren.

He graduated from John Marshall High School in 1980 and attended vocational post-secondary school. Matthew worked as a line cook for various restaurants, including the Fisherman's Inn in Oronoco, MN.

Matthew enjoyed cooking, camping, fishing, boating, and listening to rock music. These hobbies were often enjoyed together during family trips to Big Island Veteran's camp. He also enjoyed gardening, painting, and spending time with other members of his community. The family would like to thank the staff at SMB Disability Solutions for their kindness and care of Matthew.

In lieu of flowers or other memorials, the family requests donations be made to SMB Disability at 2424 75 ^th Street NW, Rochester, MN 55901.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home on Saturday, August 31 ^st from 11 am to 12 pm. The family will have a private burial at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
