Mary Adeline Zamjohn

Mary Zamjohn, 101, of Rochester, passed away April 30, 2015 at Diamond Living Care Center, Cannon Falls, MN. Mary Adeline Drescher Ehle Zamjohn was born June 8, 1913 to Edward Drescher and Mary Krieg Drescher in Princeton, MN. She attended elementary school in Preston, MN, then Rochester High School. Upon graduation, she attended Minnesota Business School. She was employed in the clinical pathology department by Mayo Clinic for 24 years, retiring in 1976.

She married Eugene Ehle in 1940 and was widowed in 1968. She married Martin Zamjohn at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA on June 9, 1973, and was widowed in 2011.

Mary greatly enjoyed spending time with her "Birthday Club" girlfriends, family and her special dogs. She was an accomplished artist, seamstress, crafter, baker, and collector of dolls. She was dearly loved by her late husband, Martin and will be greatly missed by all.

She is survived by her dog, Maya, stepdaughters Patricia Zamjohn (Greg) Wimmer of Rochester, MN, Sharon Zamjohn (Al) Frost of Petosky, MI, and grandchildren Mona Wimmer, Madeline Wimmer, Brook Frost, and Ben Frost. She is also survived by special niece Joyce Bosard of Mankato, MN, niece Dorothy Schultz of Champaign, IL, nephew Leo (Darlene) Drescher of Joliet, IL, great-nieces Goldie Bosard, Lonnie Drescher Hahn, Linda Drescher Wright, great-nephews Carl Bosard, Leo Bosard, Stanley Drescher, and Stephen Drescher, and other loving relatives and friends. The family of Mary is grateful to family friend and caregiver James Johnson of Simpson, MN.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and 3 siblings, husbands Eugene Ehle and Martin Zamjohn, and stepson Jim Zamjohn.

The memorial service for Mary will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2015 in Calvary Cemetery, 500 11th Ave. N.E., Rochester, MN with the Rev. Shawn Haremza officiating.
