Mary Lou
Kasner
January 24, 1927 – August 27, 2012
Mrs. Kasner, 85, of Rochester, MN, died Monday, August 27, 2012, surrounded by the loving presence of her family.
Mary Lou Beeman was born January 24, 1927, in Wabasha, MN. She married Edward Kasner on June 26, 1954, in Red Wing, MN, and lived in Rochester for the past 58 years. She attended the Minneapolis Business College and was a secretary and bookkeeper before having children.
She was a caring and attentive mother to six children, although countless others also felt her motherly compassion. Her abounding love, generosity, and positivity was felt by all whose lives she touched. She shared her authentic personality and genuine spirit with ease to everyone she met. It was Mary Lou's wish to donate her body to the Mayo Foundation's Anatomy Education Lab.
Survivors include her husband, Edward; four daughters, Mary Morehouse of Hayfield, Katie (Jeff) Swegarden of Rochester, Jeanne (Mike) Kitzman of Rochester and Molly (Tim) Bachman of St.Paul; two sons, John (Melanie) Kasner of Rochester, and Joe Kasner of St.Paul; seventeen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and sister, Kay (Beeman) O'Neill of St. Cloud, MN. She was preceded in death by her sister, Beebe Burke of Rochester.
The family prefers memorials to St. Joseph Children Indian School, Chamberlain, SD, or the Mayo Clinic Poverello Fund.
