Mary E. Smith, age 63 of Rochester passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at The Homestead in Rochester of congestive heart failure.

Mary was born February 20, 1955 in Rochester, MN to Lester and Doris (Davis) Smith. She graduated from Mayo High School in 1973 and then obtained her secretary degree at vocational school. She worked as a secretary at Kemps Dairy and worked in reservations at the Kahler Hotel.

She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and a member of the Does. She enjoyed playing bingo at Treasure Island Casino, doing crafts, knitting and embroidery.

Mary is survived by her nine siblings, Beverly (Lavern) Deming of Plainview, Kathleen Smith of Rochester, Jane (Michael) Mueller of Rochester, Dan (Gayle) Smith of Houston, MN, David (Micki) Smith of Rochester, Margaret Smith of Wisconsin, Eleanor Lavery of Alachua, FL, Pauline Sorensen of Byron, and Audrey Smith of Byron. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Barb Smith of Green Bay, WI and Vickie Smith of Rochester; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Joseph and Robert Smith.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2018 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with Rev. James Seitz officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
