Mary Louise “Lou” Devlin, 80, of Rochester, MN passed away peacefully Monday August 24th, 2026.

She was born February 2nd, 1946, in De Pere, WI., daughter of the late Betty and Donald Kaster. Mary Lou graduated from Lourdes High School in 1964, and Winona State University 1991. She spent much of her childhood living in places throughout the world as a child of a military father, before eventually ending up in Rochester. Mary Lou was an award-winning painter, a published writer, a choir enthusiast, and designed and sold purses on the side. She liked to travel, even taking solo trips throughout the world. Mary Lou loved to cook, as a gourmet cook it was common for her to make dishes for her family that they could not even pronounce. Family and legacy were of the upmost importance to Mary Lou. Spending time with her grandchildren was what she lived for. Her family will always remember her for making the holidays special. From the special treats to the over-the-top holiday decorations, to her generosity, her special touch made each magical. She simply loved hosting! Mary Lou is survived by her brother Jeff (Lynn) Kaster, sister Linda (Kevin) Schultz, son John (Kimberly) Devlin of Rochester, her grandchildren, Joey, Ben, Matthew, and Jon Devlin. great grandchildren, Melody, and Isla Devlin. She is preceded in death by her parents Betty and Donald Kaster, her son Jeffrey Devlin, and her brother Stephen Kaster. A Celebration of Life for Mary Lou will be held in October, and she will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Rochester.
