Mary Margaret (Galligan) Bode

Mary Margaret Bode, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, entered her eternal home at 97 years surrounded by her loving family in Winona, MN.

She was born March 11, 1927 in New Hampton, IA, the youngest of four children to Vincent and Myrtle (Kane) Galligan but grew up in Elma, IA.

Mom worked at Interstate Power in Elma until she married Charles Bode in October of 1949 in Elma. They resided in Elma until 1956 when they relocated to Rochester, MN. They were married for 55 years until Dad's death in 2004. She was a long-time member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Rochester, MN. Mom was a homemaker, enjoyed team bowling, worked at the Olmsted County Courthouse in Rochester and was an enthusiastic Scrabble player as well as a Minnesota Twins fan. After leaving the Courthouse, she volunteered at St. Francis Elementary School. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers Bob, Bill and George. She is survived by daughters: Kathy (Nels) Ebbesen, Pat (Royce) Pence, Lori (Brian) Husk and Nancy Bode; grandchildren: Jeremy (Kelly), Anna (Jared), Kelsy (Derek), Allie (Joe), Brenna, Corey (Sarah) and Lindsay (Isaac); great-grandchildren: Jack, Clara, Charlie, Riley, Brayden, Andi, Maddie and one on the way; sister-in-laws: Mary Jo Galligan and Joan Marr as well as nieces and nephews. Mom, you will be greatly missed, forever loved and in our hearts forever.

Visitation will be 12:00-1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at The River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home, 1105 12 ^th St. SE, Rochester with a prayer service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Rochester, MN following the service.

Memorials are preferred to Winona Health Hospice.
