Obituary

Marvis Elaine (Bergman) Muller, 93, of Rochester, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 12, 2017.

Marvis was born September 23, 1923 in Willmar to William and Metha (Christensen) Bergman.

Shortly after graduating from Willmar High School, Marvis met a handsome young man at the local A&P Grocery Store. His name was Marvin Muller. It was then that a beautiful love story began that lasted over 70 years. In 1943, Marvin was called to duty during World War II. As he was stationed overseas, it was then that Marvis moved to Chicago to attend Chicago Meteorological School. She then moved to Rochester and worked for the weather bureau at the Rochester airport.

Upon Marvin's return, Marvin and Marvis were united in marriage on December 20, 1945. They made their home in Rochester. Marvis was a homemaker. She was active with the ladies aid for many years at Trinity Lutheran Church. While her health permitted, she loved bowling, playing bridge, dancing and above all SINGING! She will forever be remembered for her witty sense of humor.

Most importantly, Marvis was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who will be deeply missed by her family.

Marvis is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Vessey of Rochester, and Kristen (Gregory) Rausch of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Jennifer (Scott) Anderson of Garvin, Minnesota, Katherine (Neal) Tovsen of Apple Valley, Minnesota, Todd (Jessica) Vessey of La Crescent, Minnesota, Jeff (Jennifer) Lacey of San Diego, California, Emily Rausch of Green Bay, Wisconsin, and Alyson Rausch of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; great-grandchildren, Annika, Morgan, Andrew, Elise, Sebastian, and Dylan; and former son-in-law, Craig Vessey.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; daughter, MaryKay Lacey; son-in-law, David Lacey; two sisters; and two brothers.

On behalf of "Marvelous" Marvis we would like to extend our deepest gratitude to her wonderful caregivers at Golden Living West with whom she shared a very special bond, the visiting nurses and staff at Seasons Hospice, and the pastoral staff at Trinity Lutheran Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made out to Trinity Lutheran Church or Seasons Hospice.

The Funeral Service for Marvis will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Joel Haak officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester, MN.
