Marvin P.
Ross
October 3, 1932 – August 3, 2015
Marvin Peter Ross passed away on Monday, August 3 at Cottagewood in Rochester after a long battle with chronic health conditions.
Marvin was born October 3, 1932 and grew up on a farm in Plainview, Minnesota. He was drafted into the Army during the Korean War. The highlight of Marv's military career was being assigned to Marilyn Monroe's security detail during her USO tour in Korea. After his service in the Army, Marv returned to Rochester where he lived the remainder of his life. He was a hard working man who drove truck for different construction companies in the Rochester area. After a long day at work, Marv enjoyed a cup of coffee at various establishments in Rochester including Cheap Charlie's and Grandma's Kitchen. Even after retirement he looked forward to going to those places for breakfast to "shoot the breeze".
Marv is survived by three children from his first marriage; his son Brian (Jodi) from his second marriage and grandson Connor.
A private family burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at a future date.
Marvin had a gruff exterior but truly had a heart of gold and will be missed by his family and friends.
