Obituary

Marven Orlin Askildson, 82, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 8th, 2013. He died peacefully in his home, surrounded by family.

He was born on July 17 th , 1930, on a farm in Winnebago County, Iowa.  He later moved to Lake Mills, IA and to Albert Lea, MN. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. On May 5 th , 1953, he married Dorothy Irene Nyman. They resided in Albert Lea and later moved to Rochester, MN in 1964, where they have lived since. Marven was a carpenter for most of his life.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; three children, Julie Hanson of Rochester, Ricky Askildson of Burnsville, and Robert (Susan) Askildson of Rochester; five grandchildren, Lance (Virginie), Chad, Sydney, Grant, and Coleton; one great-grandson, Samuel; and two sisters.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, five brothers, and two sisters

The funeral service of Marven will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday February 12th, at Resurrection and Life Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rochester with Pastor Stephen Meyer officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens.

Visitation for family and friends will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.

Family prefers memorials to be directed to Resurrection Lutheran Church.
