Marie was born on October 5, 1969 in Rochester to Harold and LaVerne (Finley) Curry. She was youngest of nine children. She grew up in Pleasant Grove Township in Stewartville, MN. While attending Stewartville High School, her mother became ill and Marie had to leave school to become her full-time caretaker, during this time, she obtained her Certified Nurse Assistant degree. She later completed her GED and attended Winona State University receiving her Bachelor of Science degree. In 2006, she earned a certificate in Medical Billing and Coding. Marie worked various jobs including Medical Accountant with Praxair, Tax Accountant with H&R Block, and in 2004 she moved to Fort Collins, CO, where she owned and operated her own Medical Billing and Coding Business. In 2014, she moved back to Rochester due to her diagnosis with ALS, to be closer to her family. During this time, she met Mike Halverson, who has been her loving life companion until her passing. Marie especially loved animals, camping, embroidery, traveling and being outdoors. She even converted a van into her own personal camper. She had a strong faith and attended Emmanual Baptist Church in Rochester. Marie was always optimistic, had a great sense of humor, a twinkle in her eye, and a beautiful smile. She was very bighearted, generous, kind and FUN!
